Personal care services
Also known as private duty care, personal care services involve at-home assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs.) While these activities can range from person to person, they may include bathing, toileting, dressing, general hygiene, and other personal duties. These usually require a level of physical help from a caregiver, whether it is directly assisting the person or completing the activity for them.
Purpose of personal care
Although aging is a natural process, these activities of daily living may bring frustration or dejection when they become difficult to do independently. Having a careful hand nearby to help safely prepare for the day will bring an inherent reassurance for our clients and their families.
Having someone available to provide this personal care also introduces the recipient to a trustworthy, helpful person whom they will regularly see. Additionally, personal care also allows the individual to rely on consistent help and make any modifications if necessary.
Oftentimes, this type of care is suited for those with chronic health conditions, major injury, or issue with mobility. The level of care will be targeted to the client’s unique situation and level of independence.
While this type of home care can be a delicate matter, our caregivers are well-experienced in the personal care field. Personal caregivers can play many roles in a client’s life, but the most important is being a positive contributor to their overall health.
In addition to our companionship and homemaking services, our personal care includes:
Hygienic maintenance
Physical assistance
Ambulatory care
Health and wellness care
